THE NEXT STEP:

COLLEGE ADMISSION!

By PresenterMedia.com

* Keep the process in perspective The decision is not “life-defining.” While the decision is meaningful and important, it is only one of many students will encounter in life. Overstating its significance only adds to feelings of anxiety or even inadequacy.

* Take ownership but also work together as a family. You are Captain of the ship. But let your parents be your lifeboat.

* Discuss finances openly What can you afford? Savings? Work-study in college?

* Start early and meet all deadlines Application, Financial Aid, Scholarships, Summer Programs, etc.

STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD!What happens when you apply to a college where the majority of applicants are Straight-A students with exceptional test scores?

ADMISSION DIRECTORS WANT TO KNOW…

• What makes you YOU. What has shaped you? What do you care about?

• They care about quality NOT quantity• They ask themselves, what does this

student contribute to their community?• For the most selective… what will you add? Why you?
