A:Ourgoalinconsolidatingeveryoneistocutdownonresponsetimes,andprovidebetterserviceforthecitizensofSumnerCounty,sincewewillnolongerhavetotransfercalls.

A:Itisrealbusy.Wearenotonlytaking9-1-1calls,butalsoalltheadmincallsforthedispatchdepartmentsthatweconsolidated.

Q:Howaretheemployeesadjustingtothenewcenter?

A:Theyareadjustingtoit.Itwasahugechangeforthemwithnotonlyanewenvironment,butalsoawholenewCAD,9-1-1andmappingsystems.Iseethemgainingconfidenceeverydayandtheyarestartingtocometogetherasateam.

Q:WhatelsedoyouwantpeopletoknowaboutthenewSumnerCo.911?

A:Thisconsolidationwasalongdrawnoutprocessthatwestartedbackin2008.Itwasnotaneasytaskandwasnotsomethingthatwejustjumpedinto.Welookedatthefeasibilityofitandafterdecidingtomoveforwardwiththeblessingofallthatwouldbeaffectedbyit,wetriedtoplanforeverything.Wealsovisitedseveralsitesthathadalreadydonethistogettheirthoughtsandfindoutwhatissuesorobstaclestheyhadtoovercome.BydoingthisIbelievethatitmadeourtransitionasmootherone.WestillhaveawaytogowithgettingalltheTelecommunicatorscrossedtrainedandgettingtheirtimesuptowheretheywere,butwearewellonourwayandwelcomeanyonethatwouldliketocomeandtourthecenterordiscussourprocess.
