Aside from school works or assignments, household chores are one of the hateful activities imposed on men, women, and even children. Cleaning the living room, cleaning your own room, and laundering and ironing clothes are probably the three worst household chores. These chores are hectic, laborious, and time-consuming.

They take up most of your time that you have to give up leisure time. That means you have to refrain from going anywhere to have a good time. You also have to give up playing games or watching television especially if you belong to the youth group.

Cleaning the living room is labor-intensive. You have to move heavy chairs, tables, appliances, and cabinets. Even the minute figurines and picture frames should be spic and span. The cobwebs on the ceiling and corners should be dusted off. The floors should be mopped and sometimes polished.

If you have carpets and rugs, they have to be vacuumed. The curtains need to be replaced especially if they have been darkened by the accumulation of dust. To make your living room pleasant and clean is an all day's work.

Another distasteful household chore is cleaning your own room. Some describe it as a pig's sty because there are so many trashes lying around. Since it is a personal space, one is comfortable living and sleeping in it. Despite the litters lying around, they are often ignored. No one is going to see them anyway. The public eye is not allowed to go inside this private hide-out.

When time comes to clean up the mess, it takes so long to clean them up. There are little things lying around that may be valuable to the owner. There are also knick-knacks, stuff toys, games, and personal effects that need to be cleaned. All items need to be arranged neatly and orderly. The floors need to be vacuumed and polished if needed. Bed sheets, bed covers, linens, pillows, and pillowcases should also be replaced.

Lastly, doing the laundry and ironing the clothes afterwards are another hectic and laborious household chores. If you have a big family, you might not be able to finish all the laundry in one day. Wet clothes need to be sun-dried in order to eliminate the bad odors.

It will also prevent mildew from growing in moist areas. Ironing is also time-consuming and overwhelming if you have a big pile of clothes. Better do it twice a week or more so you do not have a huge stack all the time.

Even if cleaning, laundering, and ironing are three worst household chores, you can do it happily. A positive outlook certainly can overcome these dreary activities. To lighten up your workload, you can ease the burden by singing to yourself, humming a happy tune, or stop working for a few minutes to rest.

Stretch and step for a while to relax. Drink your favorite juice to refresh. Think of the beautiful outcome that you will achieve if you persevere after a hard day's work.
