How to compute a given percent of a whole number.

• 1. First, find the decimal equivalent of the percent.

• 2. Multiply the whole number with the decimal equivalent of the percent.

• 3. Compute the answer.

1. Percent is per one hundred, percent may be written as a decimal very easily. Simply place a decimal to the right of the percentage.

2. Next, move the decimal to the left two places. You have now changed your percent into a decimal.
