BUILDING ON
A TRADITION OF
EXCELLENCE
The Tuckahoe School Foundation is dedicated to assuring the
continued excellence of our schools by facilitating and developing
academic enrichment programs and other innovative educational
projects. The Foundation is a non-profit organization comprising
community, business and civic leaders working in collaboration
with the administration and the Board of Education to secure
independent, voluntary funding for these programs and to involve
parents, community members, alumni, and the private sector in
enhancing the education of every child in our district.

From Our President…
The Tuckahoe School Foundation is entering its 10th year of operation, and on behalf of the entire
board I am proud to report on the state of the foundation. Despite the economic climate of the past
year, the Tuckahoe School Foundation has exceeded our expectations and in doing so has continued to
provide support for programs and events that enhance the educational experience of all Tuckahoe
students.
Over the past 9 years we have provided over $168,000 in grants and scholarships. The amount funded
this year includes $23,500 in teacher grants and student scholarships. We have also committed an
additional $25,000 for long term projects. As we strive to increase our endowment, it is our goal to
fund larger and far reaching projects as well as
continue to support teacher grants. We have
begun this with our partnership with the
Generoso Pope Foundation to add an additional
9 smartboards to the already co-funded 37
smartboards in all three schools.
All of this would not be possible without the
hard work and dedication of the entire TSF
board, the support of our parents, community
sponsors, alumni, as well as our faculty, and
administrators. I thank all of you especially the
board for your willingness to give your personal
time. It has been a pleasure working with you
this past year.
I would like to recognize two of those board members who have tendered their resignations - Robert
Marzziotti who served on the board since 2000, including as treasurer and then as president, and Julia
Lestch who served since 2002, this past year as vice president. Your presence will be sorely missed.
As we continue our mission to “Put Tuckahoe Kids First”, we invite all of the community to join us in
our 7th Annual Casino Night - “007 Casino Royale,” on February 5th at Lake Isle Country Club. It is
our only fundraiser of the year so please mark it in your calendars and plan on attending what is always
a fun evening. At last year’s function, it was a pleasure to see so many new faces in attendance. It is
our hope to see even more this year along with our regular supporters. It is your continued support that
will assure our success! I look forward to seeing you on the 5th.
