The newly created presentation has a symbolic name Presentation1. It exists only in the operating memory. Therefore, it is necessary to save it to a disk. You can use any of the methods:On the File tab, click Save.Click the Save button with a picture of a floppy disk on the Quick Access.Use Ctrl + S.
Starting with the PowerPoint 2007, presentations are saved in a new format (.PPTX extension). The files in the new format are smaller and offer more functionality. Some of the new features, however, are not compatible with versions of PowerPoint 2003 and earlier. On the contrary, the versions of PowerPoint 2007 and 2010 are fully compatible. Also a presentation created in Powerpoint 2003 is fully compatible with the PowerPoint 2007 and 2010.
If the presentations created in Powerpoint 2007 and 2010 are opened in an earlier version (e.g. 2003), they can be converted in this way:1.On the File tab, click Save and Send.2.Click Change File Type.3.In the right part of the window select the PowerPoint 97-2003.4.Click Save as. Select a location and save the file.
