II. Long Conversation 1& III Spot Dictation

• A: I don’t see what Jeff’s problem is. I want one more dog, we already have two. It’s not like it’s that a big deal.

• B: I don’t think it’s probably gonna add a whole lot to the house.

• A: Exactly, exactly. It’s going to be a small dog.• B: So not a huge one. Like the two you have?• A: Right, right. So I don’t see why. He is gonna be

very well behaved. I promised to train him, I promised to take him out and

• do all the training. I don’t see his problem.

• B: You said Jeff doesn’t have to do any of the work, even?

• A: Right.• A: So I asked Jeff the other day if I can

get another dog, and he said no.• B: No, why would it be a big problem,

you’ve already have two.• A: Well, that’s what I told him, I said

what’s one more, and I just want something small.

And it will sit on my lap and love me.

• B: Yes, you won’t have a big dog, right?• A: Right. And he said absolutely not. And I

said you are not being fair, I promise I’ll take care of it, I promise I will feed it, I promise I will train it, and he said no.

• B: So you are gonna do all the work, it’s gonna be a small dog, what was his problem even, what was his issue?

• A: He said I don’t think a small one will even add that much more for any more problems

• A: I kind of understand his reasoning just because it is a little more work, but we have three kids like we have three dogs.

• B: That’s a good point.• A: Yeah.• B: Maybe you can win him over. Maybe buy

some books or get some pictures of some cute little puppies.

• A: That’s a good idea, I’m gonna buy a book.

• B: Or you can just bring one home.• A: I don’t think I can do that to him.• B: Well, good luck!• A: Thanks.
