INVOLVES THREE STEPS:

IDENTIFY, MARK, ANDREPORT.

•Recognize the UXO hazard.

•Take immediate action (markand evacuate).

•Report the UXO hazard.

•DO NOT TOUCH IT!

•Do not move closer to it.

•Mark it from where you are(make sure the marker is visiblefrom all directions and at night).

•Use protective measures toinclude evacuation, isolation, andbarricades.

•Report it by class and number.

UXO CHECKLIST ITEMS1. Call your unit control center orsurvival recovery center to report• Name/Rank• Unit

• Phone/RadioNet

• Date/Time2. Report the location and cordon sizeof the UXO(Bldg number, grid coordinate, distancefrom a landmark or bldg, etc.) Explainhow the UXO is marked and the distancebetween the UXO and marker.

3. Report the “Class” or shape (i.e.“Bravo 1” UXO)

4. Report any identifying featuresFor example the color, size, length, andmarkings

5. Report the condition of the UXOIs it leaking?

Is it broken?

Is it intact?

Etc.6. Report any other significantinformation
