Improving Recruitment and Referrals Using Student Scenarios
The ChallengeRelaying all of the pertinent information about a new program to all of the parties who could recruit or make referrals, without giving too much information.
The SolutionUse various student scenarios to determine who would or would not qualify for the program. The referring agencies/departments have a better understanding of who to refer to the program.
Career Pathways ProgramIn KY our career pathways program is Accelerating Opportunity. Guidelines for the program are:Students must qualify for Adult Ed services in any one
area (reading, language or math)Students are dual enrolled in Adult Ed and collegeServe both non-GED students and high school or GED
graduatesWIA will fund tuition for non-GED students, as long as
they are full time (12 credit hours)Students will earn at least 1 certificate in one of the
technical pathways offered
