This map illustrates the satellite-detected surfacewaters extent in southern part of Vietnam, asobserved from the Sentinel-1 images acquired on07 November 2017, following the landfall oftropical cyclone DAMREY-17 on 05 November2017. In the analyzed area, about 700,000 ha oflands, mainly agricultural and paddy fields arelikely flooded. In addition, ~2,600,000 people areliving within flooded areas. This is a preliminaryanalysis and has not yet been validated in thefield. Please send ground feedback to UNITAR -UNOSAT.
