Visit of a Scholar – Sheikh Usama Al Attar at

Al Muntazir Islamic Seminary – Boys Campus

It was a blessed morning when the Principal, Director IRE, Staff and Students of

Al Muntazir Islamic Seminary cordially welcomed Sheikh Usama Al Attar to our

School Community on Friday, 31st January 2020 – 5th Jamadi ul Akhar 1441 A.H.

The Assembly program began with seeking the blessings of the Almighty with the

recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the National Anthem.

Mr. Reuben introduced Sheikh Usama by sharing his short biography during the

assembly, he said Sheikh Usama Al Attar is originally from the Holy city of

Karbala. He is well rounded at the Academic level, and he is very active at the

Religious level as well. He completed his B.SC. in chemistry at the University of

British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He then moved to the United States,

where he started working in the field of his specialty at the Veterans Affairs

Hospital in Long Beach, and then moved to the University of California, Los

Angeles. With round of applause he welcomed Sheikh to contribute some word of

wisdom to the Students.

There were inspirational talks and advise to the Students by Sheikh Usama

Al Attar he said, “Aim for the Moon. If you miss, you will land among the Stars”. He

continued with a short true story, he pointed out that Success does not come easy,

we will face challenges in life but we should not give up. He advised the Boys to

determine their goals, believe in themselves and work hard in order to be

successful in life. The Students with confidence and all the positive energy said

“WE CAN DO IT”.

The School is honoured to have a great Scholar, who is well active at the

Academic and Religious level. The Assembly program ended with Dua e Hujjat by

the Boys of Almis.

Education is the passport to the Future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. Malcolm X
