Introduction
Visual Pictionary (VP) is an original and innovative device to assist the visually handicapped students understand graphs and figures electronically.
Objective
•to create a platform for Visually Handicapped to learn graphs and figures
•to increase awareness on how engineers can design gizmos to improve the life-style of the disabled
•to encourage innovation in research and development for practical application
VP Overall Structure
VPd – Virtual Pictionary Decoding software
VPs – Virtual Pictionary System
VPs
Controller
Buffer Solenoids Matrix
Intel 8051
It is easy to use and implement
It has sufficient built in RAM/ROM, I/O ports
It can interface with RS-232 serial port
MC 1489 quad line receiver
It is used to match the transmission line EIA-232D standard to the predefined TTL level for the microcontroller.
ULN2003A Darlington Arrays
ULN2003A are high voltage, high current darlington arrays each containing seven open collector darlington pairs with common emitters. Each channel can provide sufficient current to energize the solenoid.
Solenoids Matrix
The solenoid will be raised to represent the features of the figures and graphs
