Balley, founderMember, Shri Guru Ravi-dass Sabha, Pittsburg,Mrs. Gina Bhatia, Gen-eral Secretary of GuruGhar, Vinod Chumber,Nirmal Rattu, DishvinderPal, Dr. Harmesh Kumarand Kashmiri Bhatia,President of the Sabha.All the speakers paidtheir homage and glowing trib-utes to the memory of this jewelof India by depicting a picture ofhis unparalleled contributions inhis untiring efforts to fight for so-

cial justice for all the depressedand neglected sections of the In-dian society.

Dr. Mamta Joshi, a veryprominent and acclaimed artist in

the classical musicadorned the celebrationswith her sweet voice andmusical skills and was amagnificent attraction ofthe event. Prominent RagiJatha from San Jose alsoentertained the Sangatwith their melodiousvoice and Shabad Kirtan.Mr. Prem K. Chumber,Chief Editor, Desh Doabaand Ambedkar Timeswho could not attend thecelebrations because ofhis pre -occupations senta special message withhis congratulations onthis important function.The program ended withArdas and langar Sewaon behalf of the entireSangat of Guru Ghar.

32nd Anniversary of Shri GuruRavidass Temple, Pittsburg (Cali-fornia) was celebrated with aspirit of great enthusiasm anddedication on July 2nd, 2017(Sunday) at the Temple in Pitts-burg. The entire Sewa for thishistoric occasion with the recita-tion of three days Akhand Path,was hosted by Waheguru blessedfamily of Mr. Kashmiri Bhatia,the president of the Sabha in theloving memory of his father lateShri Rattan Singh Bhatia. Thishistoric function was attended bya large number of followers ofGuru Ravidass Ji Maharaj.Mrs. Gina Bhatia, the GeneralSecretary of the Sabha whoopened the proceedings of the

Mr.O.P.Balley, one of thesenior founding members of GuruGhar who has very intimateknowledge of the history of thistemple, depicted in details the vi-sion, untiring efforts of thefounders who, with sustainedhelp and co-operation of Sangat,opened this Guru Ghar on June

2nd, 1985. He also narrated thehistory how some of our pioneersfrom Fiji Islands carried their cul-tural heritage to this country andtheir hard work and persever-ancebecame instrumental in theopening of this Guru Ghar whichhas the honor of being the Shiro-mani Guru Ghar.

Pioneers Remembered:-Mr. Balley also paid his homagein remembranceto all the found-ing members by naming them in-dividually each one of them, alsoexpressed his emotional griefand sorrow to see that most ofthe pioneers who did a tremen-dous and a laudable job to bringthis Guru Ghar into existence, are

Mr. Sukhraj Chopra one of thefounding members who had per-formed the opening ceremony of thetemple with his lavish donation alsoaddressed the Sangat briefly on theoccasion. Mr Balley also paid hishomage to late Mr. Karma Dalel whobeing the second highest donor per-formed the Nishan Sahib ceremony ofthe temple.

It was an historic accomplish-ment in the annals of its history anda badge of honor to the undauntedand devotional efforts of the entireSangat who,inspite of their meagermeans and financial resources at thattime opened their hearts by donatinggenerously for this noble cause.Today the entire community in USAis proud to see the splendor, glamourand expansion of our Guru Ghar to itsremarkable heights.

Mr Balley also stressed theneed to keep the children, who arethe future architects of any nation,attached to our cultural heritage byinsulating them from the adverse in-fluence of undesirable elements of so-ciety.

Mr. Prem K.Chumber, Editor-In-Chief, Ambedkar Times & DeshDoaba weekly newspapers who isdoing a commendable job as a mediajournalist, while congratulating onthis historic occasion of celebratingthe 32nd Anniversary of building thisfirst Shri Guru Ravidass temple inNorthern America, spoke very em-phatically about the powerful role ofmedia in promoting the welfare andinterests of any community or a reli-gious organization.

Mr Prem K. Chumber alsomentioned about the spirit andcourage of Dr. Harmesh Kumar, aprominent member of the communitywho is contesting the election forGovernor for the state of California &also he said Mr. Lahori Ram Commis-sioner was the first prominent mem-ber of Indo-American community to

be actively involved in the field of po-litical arena and thus becoming agreat inspiration for future genera-tions.

Mr Abhishek Narabat formerGeneral Secretary of Shri Guru Ravi-dass Sabha Pittsburg (California)demonstrated his grave concernsabout the atrocities committed in Sa-harnpur (UP) on helpless people be-longing to down trodden communitiesand pleaded for financial help to re-lieve them in their suffering.

Rev. Will McGarvey, ExecutiveDirector of Interfaith Council of Con-tra Costa County expressed his valu-able thoughts for creating mutualunderstanding and harmonious rela-tionship between different religiousfaiths.

Kavi Jatha:Parminder SinghParwana, Gurdial Singh Noorpuri,Tarsem Singh Suman, Jasvir SinghFremontentertained the Sangat withthe recitation of Kavitas based on theteachings of Gurbani.Mr Kashmiri Bhatia the president ofthe temple who hosted this functionapplauded the role and the efforts of

the founding members in the estab-lishment of this magnificent GuruGhar. He also thanked the Sangat forparticipation and cooperation in mak-ing this event successful.

The Managing Committee ofGuru Ghar also honored the living aswell as the deceased founding mem-bers with Siropas for their dedicatedefforts to build this Guru Ghar.Siropas for the deceased foundingmembers were received on their be-half by their close family memberswho were present at the function.Mr. O.P. Balley who was also honoredwith Siropa thanked the ManagingCommittee on be-half of all theawardees which, hesaid, belong to theentire Sangat fortheir help and co-operation.
