STILL, who has been**-* spending a two-week's vacationwith relatives, left Monday for River-head where he will resume his posi-tion as teacher of history and arith-metic of the seventh grade in 1>heRiverhead school. At the summersession of New York university Mr.Still was elected president of the Tri-State club for next yekr. Studentstaking the summer school course atNew York university,-A from NewYork, New Jersey and Pennsylvaniaare eligible for membership.

A number of people from thisplace attended the county fair at Riv-erhead last week. Mrs. William Geh-ring exhibited several knitted andcrocheted articles and won first prizeon a white knitted dress. Mrs. RuthMailer , Lester Davis, Lester Davis,Jr., and Merwin Still won a numberof prizes foi vegetables and live-stock.

Church .ind Sunday-school serviceswere resumed in the Trinity churchthis week after being closed for thesummer months.

School sessions in district No. 14started yesterday morning. Mrs. W.Wild and Mrs. Wilbur are in chargeagain this year.

Superintendent Harold F. Davisand a number of friends are enjoy-ing a three-week vacation at MooseHead lake in Maine.

Mr. and Mrs. Leon Edwards enter-tained Mr. and Mrs. Robert Still andchildren and Mr. and Mrs. LeopoldMikkleson and Mr. Mikkleson's sisterand several other guests at theirhome on Sunday afternoon. Laterin the afternoon the party enjoyed apicnic supper at Mt. Sinai beach.

Mrs. Charlotte Still entertained 25members of her family at a picnicsupper on the lawn of her home lastSunday.

Mrs. Jacob LeBleu and son, Irving,were guests of Mrs. Charlotte Stillon Friday.

EDWARD SMITH will leave soon to**—i resume his studies at college inGene3eo, N. Y. He will visit friendsin Syracuse and Dansville enroute.

Miss Johanna Koschara , Mrs. Chris-tian Koschara and Mrs. Elroy Smithvisited Helen Smith at the Matherhospital and found her much improv-ed. She will have a vacation of onemonth before resuming her duties atthe Mather hospital.

The local firemen attended the par-ade of the Setauket Fire departmenton Saturday evening. It was to havebeen held on Friday but was post-poned on account of rain.

Miss Patricia Rice spent a week in

New York as the guest of Mr. andMrs. Richard Manning.

Mrs. Anna Wevell, who is on avisit from Germany, spent a few daysrecently at the home of Mr. and Mrs.Johiv Baczensky.

Mrs. Carter recently entertainedher daughters, Elizabeth and Jean,also Mr. and Mrs. Barrett "of NewJersey. The afternoon was spentfishing and bathing at West Sayville.

Mrs. Carter entertained Mr. andMrs. Graham of Port Washingtonand Mr. and Mrs. McGill of St. Jameson Thursday.

Edwin Hawkins spent the holidayweek-end in Boston, Mass.

Savilla Smith spent a few clays lastweek as the guest of Marjorie Hahn.

The Methodist church resumed ser-vices on Sunday evening. The Rev.Mr. Sloatman gave a very inspiringsermon on "Heavenly Vision.". NextSunday Sunday-school will begin at2 p. m. All children are urged tocome and everyone is extended a cor-dial welcome.

Miss Olga Miller received firstprize in a drawing she entered atthe Riverhead fair. Last year shealso received first prize. She hassome remarkabl drawings, althoughshe is only 13 years old.

John Siden has leased the CoramTea Room and it is under the man-agement of Mrs. Ludgigsen (Toots).It will be known as Coram Bar andGrill. The opening was held lastSaturday evening. A good crowdwas on hand to dance to the music ofan orchestra of colored boys from Pt.Jefferson and at midnight a lunchwas served to the guests. "Toots" iswell known here having been employ-ed at "Tom's Eagle Rest."

music have been enjoying free publicconcerts monthly by the Graduate or-chestra at Patchogue High school.Now attention is centered wpon aspecial subscription concert to be giv-en there by this organization, withMiss Lois Bannerman of Hempstead ,renowned young harpist, as guest so-loist, next Wednesday at 8:30 p. m.This will be followed by a dance inthe gymnasium, with music by LineAndrews' Society orchestra. Popularprices will prevail. There will -beseparate tickets for the concei-t only,but none for the d a n c e . Theproceeds will be for the benefit of asupply fund , to make possible anoth-er series of free concerts.

HOLBROOK FIRE DEPT.WINS ON APPEARANCE

The Holbrook fire department wasawarded a silver cup for the fine ap-pearance which it- made in the par-ade which preceded the bazaar givenfor the benefit bf the Sayville firedepartment last week. The Bayportand Holbrook Fire departments tiedfor second place and a cup wasawarded to both companies by theSayville firemen.
