1.WagetypeCreationStepsbyStepProcess

Wagetypesareusedtoassignpaymentsanddeductionsaswellastocontrolthepayrollprogram.Insimpleterms,Wagetypesarethebuildingblocksofthepayrollmoduleandareessentialtocompensatetheemployees.Wagetypescannotbecreateddirectly.Ithastobecopiedfromanexistingwagetypeavailableinthesystem.Onceitiscopiedfromamodelwagetype,itcanthenbemodifiedtomeetthecustomerspecificrequirements.Transactioncodeforwagetypecopying:OH11orPU30SPROpath:PersonnelManagement>PersonalAdministration>PayrollData>BasicPay>Wagetype>CreateWagetypeCatalogueThewagetypesthatarecreated(copied)areincludedinallofthewagetypegroupsandtablesastheoriginalwagetype.Also,whencopiedfromastandardwagetype,allthewagetypeclasseswilltakeplaceautomaticallyasmaintainedinthestandardwagetype.However,inordertochangeandusethesettingaccordingtothecustomerrequirements,onehastowritetheRule,SchemaandchangetheProcessing,CumulationsandEvaluationclassesforthesewagetypes.Followingarethestepbystepguidelinestocopyawagetypeinordertocreateone:1.1.Lookattheexistingwagetypes

Thiscanbedonebyviewingtable512W_Dwhichcontainsallthedetailsofpastandpresentwagetypescreatedinthesystem.

UsetransactioncodeSM31toviewthetablemaintenancescreenEnterthetablenameasV_512W_DSelectDisplaytabandenterWhenprompted,typethecountrygroupingforthecompany(ex.08:GreatBritain)andhitenterSelectEditEverythingandpressenter.Thewagetypetableisdisplayedwithallthewagetypesontheleftmostcolumn4

characterslong.SelectanyofthewagetypesandclickondetailsiconFindanexistingwagetypethatissimilartotheonerequiredtobecreated,andthenlookforthenextavailablenumberEnsurethatthewagetypenumberthatischosenisntalreadyassigned.

Note:Customerdefinedwagetypesmustalwaysstartwithadigit.

Thiscanbedonebyselectinganoldexistingwagetypeandthencopy.Belowarethesteps:GototransactionOH11whenpromptedtochooseamethodofmaintenance,selectCopynenter.Atableisdisplayedwithtwosidesonetoaddthewagetypestobecopiedandtheothersidetoaddthewagetypedrequiredtobecreated.

UnderOriginalwagetype,typetheoldwagetypetobecopied(ex:1430).Intherighthandside,typeinthenumberofthenewwagetypeasdecidedbefore,followedbythelongdescriptionandshorttextinthenexttwocells(inthiscase:1511TestWageTypeTWT).

Note:Ashortdescriptionislimitedto8lettersandtypicallydoesnotcontainspaces.

SelecttheentryandclickonCopybuttonNote:ValiditydateneednotbeenteredatthistimeitcanbelatermaintainedinthepermissibilitytableT512z

Thetestlogandresultsaredisplayed,onceitissuccessful,gothepreviousscreen,unchecktheboxmarkedTestRunandclickonCopyWhenpromptedtosavethechanges,selectatransportrequestandassignthosechangestoit,sothatitcouldbemovedtotheproductionsystemLivelogwillbedisplayedlistingthetableswherethenewentryhasbeenmade.
