MESSAGE Rev. Cheryl Thompson
“It’s Not About Me”
2 Corinthians 1: 3-4
INVITATION TO CHRISTIAN
DISCIPLESHIP
(Please refrain from walking during this time)
THE TITHES & OFFERINGS
OFFERTORY PRAYER He which soweth sparingly shall reap also spar-
ingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap
also bountifully. Every man according as he pur-
poseth in his heart, so let him give; not grudg-
ingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful
giver. And God is able to make all grace abound
toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency
in all things, may abound to every good work.
II Corinthians 9:6-8
CHARGE The Mission of Mount Zion First Baptist Church
is to exalt Jesus Christ, to lead people to experi-
ence salvation, to enhance their spiritual develop-
ment, and to promote social justice. We are Bi-
ble-based, Christ-centered, Holy spirit-led, and
Mission Outreach-oriented.

CALL TO WORSHIP Minister
LEADER: Save me, O God, by your name; vin-
dicate me by your might.
PEOPLE: Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the
words of my mouth.
LEADER: Arrogant foes are attacking me;
ruthless people are trying to kill me—people with-
out regard for God.
PEOPLE: Surely God is my help; the Lord is
the one who sustains me.
LEADER: Let evil recoil on those who slander
me; in your faithfulness destroy them.
PEOPLE: I will sacrifice a freewill offering to
you; I will praise your name, Lord, for it is good.
ALL: You have delivered me from all my trou-
bles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my
foes.
Psalm 54: 1-7 (NIV)

You’ll want to be present to help celebrate this grand
occasion.
In celebration of Women's Day, we will be having a
giveaway of clothes, shoes, household items, and what-
ever else you would like to give away. We are asking that
all donations be given no later that Thursday, August 15.
The event will take place in the parking lot August 16,
10am-2pm. The point of contact is Sis Evelyn Hardeman.
The Trustee Meeting will be July 29 at 6:30pm.
We’re excited as we begin plans for our Mt. Zion First
Baptist Church Biennial Women’s Day, which takes
place, October 27th. Our Women’s Day theme, It Takes a
Village, stands securely on the spiritual strength of Psalm
82:3. Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 after ex-
penses. There are 25 weeks remaining in 2019 and we
have several giving options that will help us meet our
goal. They are as follows: $100 = $4/week, $200 =
$8/week, $300 = $12/week, $500 = $20/week, $1,000 =
$40/week. There is something for every budget. What-
ever the Lord puts on your heart to give will be greatly
appreciated.
The Hour of Power will be taking the Summer off. We
will resume in September.
Would you like to honor a loved one or acknowledge a
special occasion? What better way than to provide flow-
ers for display during Sunday morning Worship. If you
have any questions please contact Sis Julian Anderson at
210-771-0898.
Mt. Zion members are encouraged to participate in Disci-
pleship Development on Tuesdays at 7 PM, Hour of
Power on Wednesdays at 11 AM, Bible Study and Prayer
Meeting on Wednesdays starting at 6 PM.
