ACCESSING CLINICAL DATA
Access through Clinical Portal
TYPES OF LEARNERS
Some of you will be self directed learners and some not – we cater for
both groups.
Occasional students with difficulty
remembering facts turn out to have a mild form of dyslexia – let us know if
you think this could be you.
PATIENT SAFETY
Ensure patient safety by working within
the limits of your competence and status
as medical students.
Let us know if you witness any behaviour
towards patients that you feel is
inappropriate or any treatment of patients
that you think might be harmful.
Datix system for incident reporting.
PASTORAL CARE
Locally we are not advised of personal
medical conditions as this is confidential
However if you feel it may impact on your
attendance or work then please let Vicki,
your supervisor and/or departmental lead
know so that arrangements can be made
to help
You MUST inform us first thing on the first morning of absence that you will not be attending (and keep us up to date with this). An e-mail to vicki.mclaughlan@nhs.net will suffice if it is apparent that you will not make it in the next day.
Students should notify the medical school of any absence that day and report this using the self certificate form on mycampus.
Students are expected to request leave of absence for any absences known in advance, by completing the leave of absence form (available on moodle) and e-mailing angela.davie@glasgow.ac.uk or year director.
