4th Grade Math

• We are starting a new math curriculum this year. Some of the strategies will look different. Information will be sent home periodically to help you and your child with these.

4th Grade Reading

• Harcourt stories–Weekly tests & assignments

• Literature studies• The majority of AR reading will be

done at home.

4th Grade Writing

• Develop stories & essays using thinking maps

• Organize writing using the Write From the Beginning program

• Be able to write using all of the six traits

• Weekly spelling tests

Social Studies• Arizona studies–Native

Americans–History–Geography–Government

Science• Electricity• Land and Water• Animal Studies• Health

4th Grade Responsibilities
