• Text: Good Habits, Great Readers• Focus lessons, mini-lessons and wrap ups using

teacher modeling texts that model strategies and promote understanding.

• Novel Studies – Independent and Guided• Small groups • Core Books to incorporate Science and Social

Studies: Fiction, Non-fiction, Historical Fiction• Book Reports • Spelling: Essentials, Individualized, affixes/roots

Writing

Homework and Daily Preparedness

• Given nightly, except on weekends• Spelling tests on Friday• Projects will be announced on weebly with ample

time to complete and will be accompanied by a rubric

• Be sure your child is prepared each day by having all of their materials and appropriate paperwork signed.

• Any money or important office information must be placed in a closed envelope.

Star HomeworkStar homework allows you and your child to choose how much homework they will do nightly. Your child can choose to do one star or up to three stars! Our class will be attempting to earn enough stars for a reward on Friday, so it is important your child does nightly homework that helps our class accomplish their goal.
