ASSEMBLY

!

What have the superkids of room 18 been learning?

Lots of Science!

We have been learning about

Friction.

Our classroom lino was useful to experiment with friction.

We tried sliding with our socks on first.

Look at us fly!

We tried sliding without socks and weren’t so successful.

On a 4 lane race track we raced lots of different items to

see which could slide down the

fastest.

We raced lots of things; a pen, a rubber, a marble, a coin, and a toy car.

We even raced a dead cicada and weta!

The cicada and the weta didn’t even start the race because they were too light.

Because the marble was round and heavy this slid the fastest.

On the way to assembly we experimented with friction on our school

slide.

That was fun.

Lots of friction when you slide without socks!

Friction was reduced when we with slid with socks on.

Wearing shoes creates lots of friction!

And then there was the

waterslide friction fun.

Great teamwork helped us get our props ready for this assembly.

St. Patricks day was

fun!

We love reading and performing

plays.

We love maths.

Can you see why?

Thanks for coming to our assembly. We

hope you enjoy!
