Course DescriptionThe 26th Annual Pan Philadelphia Neurosurgery Conference is co-directed by three area Neurosurgical Training Programs: Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, Temple University School of Medicine, and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. This year’s program will feature a keynote address, presented by David P. McQuaid, RPh, MBA, FACHE, Executive Vice President, Clinical Affairs, Jefferson Health System and President & CEO, Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. During the Controversy Sessions of the program, participants will have the opportunity to learn from renowned leaders, as they discuss and debate difficult cases in vascular surgery, spinal disorders, functional neurosurgery, and brain tumors with the opportunity to join the discussion. Additionally, a resident research competition will provide an analytical review of current resident research endeavors.

Course ObjectivesAt the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:
1) Discuss the indications and outcomes for carotid stenosis intervention.
2) Review and discuss the management of thoracolumbar fractures, including the role of surgical and non-surgical treatment options.
3) Critically assess the available literature regarding the treatment of brain metastases.
4) Understand the role of emerging technologies in functional neurosurgery for the treatment of Parkinsonism, epilepsy, and pain disorders.
5) Assess their individual practices in light of the information and discussions during the course, and identify specific strategies to implement as part of a continuing improvement process for their practices.
Dress CodeThe Union League’s Dress Code requires Business Casual Attire for ladies and gentlemen. Gentlemen are required to wear a collared shirt and slacks; turtleneck and mock-turtlenecks may be worn when accompanied by a suit jacket or sport coat. For women dresses, blouses and skirts, or pants suit are appropriate attire. Pants should be tailored and are acceptable when worn with a jacket or other garments which would be appropriate if worn with a skirt. At no time are jeans, sneakers, athletic clothing, or shorts permitted on the first or second floor of The League House. The Union League reserves the right to refuse admittance to anyone not adhering to the Dress Code.

The Registration Fee includes all course materials, CE Certificate, and continental breakfast, buffet lunch and refreshment break. The Registration Fee does not include parking. Your registration will be confirmed via email. The deadline for registration is December 3, 2014.
Refund/Cancellation PolicyRequests for refunds must be submitted in writing and received in the Office of CME by December 3, 2014. There will be no refunds after this date. There will be a $50.00 processing fee for all refunds. Registrants who fail to attend the conference are responsible for the entire fee. All refunds will be processed after the conference. The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone this course due to unforeseen circumstances. CEREGISTRATION The Registration Fee for this course is $300 for physicians and $200 for Residents, Fellows, and Allied Health Professionals. The Registration Fee includes all course materials, CE Certificate, and continental breakfast, buffet lunch and refreshment break. The Registration Fee does not include parking. Your registration will be confirmed via email. The deadline for registration is December 3, 2014.
Refund/Cancellation PolicyRequests for refunds must be submitted in writing and received in the Office of CME by December 3, 2014. There will be no refunds after this date. There will be a $50.00 processing fee for all refunds. Registrants who fail to attend the conference are responsible for the entire fee. All refunds will be processed after the conference. The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone this course due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of a cancellation or postponement, the University will refund registration fees, but is not responsible for related costs or expenses to participants, including cancellation fees assessed by hotels, airlines or travel agencies.
