Step 5• Produce final draft for teacher

Self Revise & Edit

1. After writing the first draft, you will:

– Put writing utensil down– Breathe– Read YOUR first draft

2. AFTER reading YOUR first draft, you will:

– REVISE YOUR first draft. 4 R’s!!!– EDIT YOUR first draft for errors in

spelling, capitalization, punctuation, usage, grammar….READ sentences from end to beginning!

Self Revise & Edit

AFTER self revising and editing, you will:

• Produce a 2nd Draft following the guidelines!

This will be done in the Writer’s Corner!

2nd Draft Guidelines: Use blue or black ink or pencil Write on every other line Obtain parent signature Have grading pen

Next Step…After producing 2nd Draft, you WILL:

PEER Revise/Edit Read someone else’s essay
