Lived in Peru, then Paris, then Copenhagen where he worked as a stockbroker and then he left his family there to paint in Paris and became friends with Van Gogh. He joined the French Navy, went to the South Pacific, painted the scenery and women there. His figures are blocky and his colors are bright.

"Cafe In Arles" For a while, Van Gogh lived in a town in France named Arles and painted buildings, cafes, and bars. He lived there with another painter, Gaugin, until they had a big fight and never spoke to each other again.

Van Gogh- (Van Go) His early work is dark and realistic when painted fields with small buildings in the background. As he was influenced by impressionism, he began using the bright colors and free-form lines to create his individual style. He also used thick paint and short strokes
