DON’T FORGET TO CHECK THE WEBSITE!
O ur Friday Night Couples Events and Friday night dinners began on May 30.
Come join the fun, whether you play in the event or just come to have din-
ner. The menu for the upcoming Friday is posted on the website the first
part of the week. Please let us know if you’ll be playing and if you’ll be coming for
dinner. Also, don’t forget you can check daily course conditions on the website as
well. On the Course Conditions page, a monthly calendar is posted with gardening
and lawn tips. Visit www.twinlakesgolfclub.com for all this and more.
Feel free to call the office if you’d like all charge receipts emailed to you. When in
a hurry and anxious to get out to play, it is easy to forget a receipt. We can set up your
account so that every time there is a charge, whether in
the golf shop or a food and beverage charge, it would
automatically send an email receipt to you.
It is very important to keep us informed of any
email or home address change. Please notify us if ei-
ther change.

From the Manager
A s the calendar turns to June, one can normally expect
the weather to moderate. Summer weather will allow
us to perform the repeated mowings necessary to
great playing conditions. So far the entire course has been
great shape this season. The greens are fully recovered from
last month’s deep tine aerification and top dressing. This aeri-
fication punches 1/2 inch holes eight inches deep into the
greens to allow improved air and water exchange with the root
system. Air space in the root
zone is critical to plant
health.
We also have seen great
results from the surface drains installed in our bunkers last
year. No longer do we need to spend significant man hours
pumping our bunkers after a rain event.
By now I imagine that most everyone has seen the new tree
nursery between the 10th and the 16th holes. In April we
planted 200 total tree seedlings divided equally between Tulip
Poplar and Red Oak species. In the next few years these trees
will be transplanted on the golf course to replace the rapidly
aging Silver Maples that dominate current tree populations.
We have begun to treat our Ash trees for the Emerald Ash
Borer; however, I expect that a significant amount will be
showing signs of decline and will need to be replaced.
Plans are still in place to add forward tees on holes two,
three and seven this summer. The general wetness so far this
year has prevented us from hauling the material to its place.
Those new tees along with bunker edging are top priority this
month.
Please remember to repair ballmarks, fill or replace divots,
rake your tracks out of the bunkers, and be responsible with
golf cars and push/pull carts.

yard of turf contains over
400,000 blades of grass.

I hope this reaches everyone in good health and spirits!
Hopefully you had a happy and safe Memorial Day
weekend with your family. It was nice to have a dry four
day weekend for a change.
The month of June brings many events for everyone to en-
joy. Please check the calendar and the website to keep in-
formed on upcoming events. A few events happening in June:
junior golf, couples golf, ladies’ and men’s choose ups. The
very popular Friday night couples golf is every Friday at 5:30
p.m. through Labor Day weekend. Once again this year chef
Jeffrey will be preparing a delicious dinner buffet every week.
Friday, June 6 he will be serving: Pork tenderloin, chicken
quarters, roasted red skins, fresh asparagus, salad and rolls.
The menu for each week will be posted on the club’s home-
page of the website. www.twinlakesgolfclub.com
The golf course staff has done a great job keeping the
course in great shape. Every spring the rough is thick and
healthy. We mow the rough at the height of 2 1/2” all year
long. Please do your part to help the staff out by fixing ball-
marks, replacing divots and using proper cart etiquette.
I would like to welcome all of our new members to Twin
Lakes Golf Club and thank their sponsors for their support.
Please pass along our membership promotion to any potential
new members to ensure they take advantage of a great value.
Remember we are open for lunch Tuesday through Sunday
and for dinner Fridays through the season. As always, please
let me know if I can be of any assistance with anything. I
look forward to seeing you out enjoying your club!

Golf Shop Happenings
M ay was an eventful month for our golf shop.
We were fortunate to have a few really nice
weekends during the month. However our
Mens Guest Day #1 ran into a few weather issues and was
rained out. The Mens 36 hole stroke play event just fin-
ished up this past weekend. Gary Alexander was victori-
ous in the Championship Flight. Other Flight winners
were Dave Cremeans, Tim Lowe, Paul Fouts, John
Metzger, Steve Davis, Mike Sharp, and Joel Rose.
A reminder to get your Old Buddy matches completed
if you haven’t done so already. Our Junior Golf Camp
begins on Wednesday June 25, more details are online.
Twin Lakes is excited to host the IGA Girls Stroke Play
event from June 9th to 11th. Come out and watch some of
the best girl players in the state take on Twin Lakes.

Mark your calendars NOW for this year’s
Rally For the Cure.
This year there will be a combined Men’s and
Women’s Rally For the Cure on Saturday, August 9.
The Men’s Member-Guest, rescheduled from the
week before because of rain, started out beautiful
on May 21. But rain came before many teams
were able to finish nine holes. There are two more
Men’s Member-Guests scheduled. We hope rain
won’t be in the forecast!

Seven new blue-
bird boxes were
added to the no-
mow areas this
year. Take a few
minutes to look
for these beauti-
ful birds who
make Twin
Lakes their
home. Looking
toward 13 green
shows a typical
evening at Twin
Lakes...very
quiet and peace-
ful! (Even if you
have to dodge a
sprinkler!)
