Ultimate goal of project; To convert (E) Gym to a Home Economic Classrooms
Relationship to other buildings; This Building is one of the oldest buildings on the campus ( Prior to 1920) and apparently one of the first school buildings in the state to obtain approval under the Original Field Act following the Long Beach Earthquake of 1933.

DescriptionDescription• The Building is one story with a full basement
and approximately 9,300 square feet.• It is constructed of un-reinforced brick
masonry (URM) that was reinforced with gunite in 1933. Roof rafters are supported by wood ledgers on the exterior URM walls. At the first floor the joists are supported by cast-in-place concrete beams which are supported on reinforced concrete basement walls.
• The seismic load resisting system of this building consists of the wood sheathed diaphragms (At roof and second floor) which span to the exterior URM shear walls

Asbestos abatement, demolition of all existing interior walls, all finishes including suspended ceiling, toilet fixtures and all utilities.
New structural steel tube, bracing, and epoxy pressure grouting. New metal stud walls, new suspended ceiling, new ADA bathrooms and new VCT flooring.
New Plumbing, Electrical (Including Data, Voice & Low voltage) & HVAC Systems, new Fire Sprinkler System for basement only, New doors, windows and new custom casework.
