some rain, we have several activi-

A Gentleman In Moscow
by Amor Towles A Gentleman in Moscow immerses us
in another elegantly drawn era with the
story of Count Alexander Rostov.
When in 1922, he is deemed an unre-
pentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribu-
nal, the count is sentenced to house
arrest in a grand hotel across from the
Kremlin.
Scott Richardson is a professional paleontologist with lots of adventures
under his belt. He will be sharing with us some of his latest “DIG” finds at
our next general meeting. He works for the Bureau of Land Management
and may even be inviting volunteers to accompany him on his next trip in
southern Utah. Scott says his mission is “to find dinosaur bones and what-
ever surrounds them, and to manage their very careful excavation “. We
know you won’t want to miss this exciting program. 2048 × 1365

Seal Beach Holiday Parade
Friday December 1st - meet at the pier at 6:30p.m.
We need members to volunteer to walk in the parade
with our President Twyla Karkut. Just two blocks to
walk all dressed in our usual parade outfits: black
pants, red sweater over white top or turtleneck, black
shoes, white gloves and a Santa hat.
Condolences to Fran White on the loss of her husband, Tom, who had been ill for some time.
Best wishes were sent to her as she recuperates from an-other “cleaning” of her carotid artery.
Please join me in sending positive thoughts to her.
