Harmony in the Jungle “You are eating all our food!” cried Ricky Rat

angrily.

“You are taking over our home!” shouted Tom

Tiger.

“It is just the same thing every day, When will all

this noise end?” moaned Sally Squirrel sleepily.

“I hope to get a good night’s sleep tonight.”

“They have been arguing for years,” replied Sam

Siamang.

“How can we stop the argument?” said Sally Squirrel

sadly.

Sam Siamang scratched his chin thoughtfully. “Hmm,

maybe we can help them.”

Sam Siamang suggested that Tom Tiger and Ricky

Rat talk to the wise Bamboo Rat. He was glad

when both of them agreed.

Ricky Rat and Tom Tiger met each other in front

of Bamboo Rat’s home. Immediately they

started to quarrel. When Bamboo Rat came

out to see what the noise was, the two

animals told him why they were arguing.

Bamboo Rat said, “Calm down. Give me a few

days. I’ll find a good solution for both of you.”

Bamboo Rat watched them. He saw that the

tiger were great hunters, but they did not like

to hunt small animals. He also saw that the

rats ate mostly food from plants. Both lived in

different places.

After several days, the tigers, rats and other
