A place where reaching your dream is made possible.
ADTEC Shah Alam (ADTECSA) was developed in 2001 to produce skilled manpower to enhance the
competitiveness of national industries. Training opportunities available in ADTECSA are offered to school leavers,
graduates from other training institutions, employees from the industry and the public, who wish to pursue training to build
their career as well as those who wish to improve their current knowledge and skills.
Having been involved in TVET for several decades, ADTECSA is now focused on polishing the talent of students in
their attitudes, skills and knowledge with integrated theoretical and practical training in workshops, laboratories and
classrooms. Theoretical lessons conducted are based on the application of knowledge, where their attitude is polished
to enhance their adaptation on life long learning and career development through their daily training activities. They will
be trained in a hybrid training environment where 60% of the emphasis are on practical skills and the remaining 40% are
in theoretical knowhow.
ADTECSA has strengthened Engineering Technology Diploma programs where 7 programs are conducted to
meet the needs of the industry, especially to those who have a good foundation in mathematics and sciences. Those
graduated with a diploma in engineering technology will be exposed to equivalent amount of skills and technical
knowhow compared to their peers graduated with a diploma in industrial technology programs but, with a deeper
theoretical knowledge. Additional subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, English and Islamic Studies / Moral will be taught
for them to build a stronger knowledge base. The graduates can work in industry as a technician or assistant engineer in
the workplace. They can also pursue for a degree in engineering technology in any technical university (MTUN) such as
UTEM, UNIMAP, UTHM, UMP or UNIKL.
Before graduation, all students are required to undergo an Industrial Training (OJT) for six months to give students
the opportunity to experience the industry work environment. Most of the industry gave a good response to student
demand for training places. Those with good performance are normally absorbed as permanent workers after the period
of OJT is over.
The demand for skills and knowledge enhancement from the industry for their employees has increased
drastically in the last few years, which reflects the technological improvements in the industrial sector. As a government-
owned training organization, our primary goal is to assist industry in developing human capital. Although we have a
variety of training machines and equipment, but the charge for training is still minimal, due to our non-profit operation
and cost recovery basis, including some provisions for future facilities maintenance. In 2016, ADTECSA had successfully
trained 5043 workers from various industries and all trainings conducted in ADTECSA are claimable under the HRDF
schemes.
SMEs are very much welcome to discuss on the use of machinery and equipment in ADTECSA for prototype
production, or manufacturing of parts using our machines especially CNCs. Inquiries are always welcome from SMEs or
MNCs. ADTECSA will collaborate with them to churn out competent workforce who will conquer the technology in a more
competitve and productive economic environment, for a better Malaysia.
WELCOME TO ADTEC SHAH ALAM
