DEDICATION We, the class of 1966, dedicate this yearbook to Mrs. Byerly, one who knows more about the Romans than the

Romans themselves.

If Caesar were alive today, we are certain that he would aree with us that she is not only an excellent teacher

but a person with leadership and the ability to understand and help each and every student with whom she has come

in contact. We hope her years of teachin have been as beneficial to her as they have been to those who have at

tended her classes.

We ·say to you, Mrs. Byerly, with our deepest thanks "SUMMA CUM LAUDE".

AMERICAN FIELD SERVICE Helena "Lena" Heidrich Our A. F. S. exchange student, is representing her country of Brazil - -

where the "nuts" come from! Lena, who is staying with the Jack K1mi's, is an active member of the Senior Class of 1966. She is a member of Student Council, A. F. S. Club, Chorus, Triple Trio, and is an honorary member of the V arsity Cheerleading squad.

Helena Heidrich

I c ould never really thank you for everything here. All I want you to know is how much I've enjoyed staying in Lyndonville. Everybody is so friendly, Americans are wonderful people. Going to school every morning, the games, the apples, are all part of my year living with the Kimi's here. I want to thank everybody who worked for me to come, and the A. F. S. Club. Anytime you c ome to Brazil, you'll have to c ome and visit me.

JUNIOR PROM

The Eiffel Tower overlooking a sidewalk cafe in Paris was the setting of our 1965 Junior Prom entitled, "Paris in the Springtime".

Candidates for queen were Bonnie Barry, Brenda Flynn, Linda Houseman, Cathleen Raymondjack, Linda Schroeder, and Susan Zapf.

Candidates for king were Herb Bohnet, John Coster, Kim Hartsen, Jerry Kage, Bill Seward, and Alan Woodworth.

Last year's king and queen, Terry Martin and Marge Nowak, ended their reign by crowning the new king and queen, Alan Woodworth and Cathleen Raymondjack.

Even though long hours of planning and decorating were involved, in the end we knew that our Prom had been a complete success.

BE T V R!

from Brazil--where the nuts come from!

SENIOR PLAY

"CHARLEY'S AUNT"

"Charley's Aunt", an exciting three-act play, all started out when two Oxford men, Jack Chesney and Charley Wykeham, invited their girlfriends to have tea with them and to meet Charley's eccentric aunt

Finding out that Charley's A unt would be a few days late, just before the girls were to arrive, presented a problem which was immediately solved by Lord Fancourt Babberly, who did an excellent job of taking her place. This led to many unusual events.

Because of the a ble direction of Mr. Reese and those who worked on stage and behind the scenes, we felt tha t our pla y was a grea t success.

KINDERGARTEN

Alma Mater

You may range through all the rainbow

And love each separate hue;

You may praise the rosy sunrise

Or the evening skies so blue;

But the color of our high school

Due honor shall not lack,

While we con sing of Lyndonville,

And the Orange and the Black.

Thru four long years of high school

'Midst the scenes we love so well,

As the mystic charms to knowledge

We vainly seek to spell;

As we win athletic victories

On the baseball field or track

Still we work for dear old Lyndonville,

And the Orange and the Black.

When the cares of life o'er take us

Mingling fast our locks with gray,

Should our dearest hopes betray us

False fortunes fade away;

Still we banish care and sadness As we turn our memories back,

And recall those days of gladness,

'Neath the Orange and the Black.

The Student Council, consisting of two representatives from each grade, and an honora ry member, Lena Heidrich, governs the activities of the various cla sses and student organizations.

The Student Council is not only a governing body but acts also as a service organization. Some of its services are scheduling paid assemblies for the following school year, raising money by selling individual pictures, and collecting funds for needy overseas people. This year the Student Council bought a polaroid camera for school use which has been useful to the yearbook staff.

The Press Club has a wonderful staff this year. Each has taken the time and effort to get their news in. Other members have also helped tremendously in order to produce a good paper. A few girls have done a great deal of work on the typewriters. Included in the paper a re elementa ry and high school news, sports, gossip, and senior profiles; all of interest to faculty and students.

FOOTBALL

The Tigers again came through with a winning season, a 4- 3 effort, which was really more than expected due to 1 6 Seniors having departed. Bob Johnson broke the scoring record of the Tiger's with 1 0 touchdowns to his credit. Two of Johnson's touchdowns were kickoff returns, both good for 90 yards against Elba.

The Tiger's were honored by placing R. Johnson, E. Barnum, and G. Kage on the first team all-county team. J. Coster, W. Clark, R. Steimer made 2nd team honors, while R. Zapf, W. Green, and J. Long received honorable mention.

The wrestling team this year turned in a tremendous record as this article was written. The Tiger grapplers are undefeated and have a winning streak of ten this season This is remarkable in view of the fact that wrestling is only in its third year at Lyndonville. Mr. Large, the wrestling. coach, stated that this is the finest group of boys that he has ever coached. Lyndonville can be truly proud of this year' s edition of the L. A. Webber wrestling wildcats.

In a rebuilding year. the varsity won four and lost five games. With the exception of three players. all players were new to varsity. This young team should show marked improvement in the Spring of 1966.

The J. V. team had one of its better years winning four \vhile losing five, the same record as their big

brothers. A number of the J. V. players \dll move up to bolster the varsity team this year.
