Setting up and managing

an Apple IDWhat is an Apple ID?

• An Apple ID is an all-in-one account used to

log into various online Apple Inc. systems

such as the Apple Store, iTunes and iCloud (storage).

• Children under the age of 13 years are not

permitted to have their own Apple ID account.

• Family Sharing makes it easy for up to six

people, in your family, to share each other’s

iTunes, iBooks and App Store purchases.

iPad Specifications

The minimum specifications for an iPad in 2019

are, iPad or iPad Pro. 32GB WiFi only.

The Swift Playgrounds (coding software)

application to be used at school does not run on any device older than an iPad Air.

If your child does bring a 3/4G enabled iPad to

school, the Sim card must be removed whilst they

are at school.

Recommended accessories include a screen

protector, study/survivor case and Bluetooth

keyboard.

Student / Parent AgreementStudents must read this agreement in the company

of their parent / carer.

To be signed and returned to school by Tuesday,

4/12/18 - Orientation Day

By signing this agreement, students and their

parents / carers accept all conditions of the

School’s BYOiP policy for the time they are

enrolled at TJHS.

Note: iPad minis, smartphones and other mobile

phones are not considered an acceptable learning

device under the BYOiP policy.

Equity and supportWhere parents/carers are unable to afford the cost of

purchasing an iPad for their child, the school may be able to

assist.

Device securityThe school does not own the device, support the device or

warranty the iPad.

Damage and loss Students should protect their iPad by using a protective case

and storing it in their school bag or locker (if they have access

to one) when it is not being used.

In cases of malicious damage or theft of a student’s iPad,

existing school processes regarding behavior management

apply.

• All families (parents / carers and students) will have

access to the TJHS Skoolbag app. which is used for

daily communication.

• This application provides alerts, information on

upcoming events, copies of school newsletters, current

news, access to the school calendar and eforms for

your convenience.
