is available at reception for €3.00

St. Blaise: (3rd of February). He lived in the 4th century. Legend

has it that he cured a child who had a fish bone stuck in its throat

and from that the tradition of blessing throats on his feast day

developed. ´Through the intercession of St. Blaise, bishop and

martyr, may God deliver you from ailments of the throat and

from every other evil, In the name of the Father and of the son

and of the Holy Spirit. Amen´.

Catholic Schools Week (31st of January to 6th of February)

is an all-Ireland annual event. It is a celebration of Catholic

schools throughout Ireland, which acknowledges the contribution

that Catholic primary and post-primary schools make not just to

Irish society, but to the mission of the Church. This year´s theme

is Catholic Schools: Challenged to Proclaim God’s Mercy”.

St. Joseph´s does not have responsibility for any schools but

we acknowledge the great work being done by the schools in

the town.

Praying with God´s Word

Every Thursday evening a group gathers in St. Joseph´s

Monastery at 8pm to reflect on God´s word. You are

welcome to join the group and share your reflection on

the passages that are read.

The Corporal Works of Mercy are to feed the

hungry, to give drink to the thirsty, to clothe the

naked, to welcome the stranger, to heal the sick, to

visit the imprisoned, to bury the dead.
