Credit Card Purchase Transaction Flow

1. Cardholder presents credit card

to purchase item

2. The merchant accepts the credit card and swipe or insert credit card with the EMV chip facing inwards

into the merchant terminal.

3. The transaction will require authorization

approval from the Bank

4. Bank authorizes transaction. Approval depends on the credit

card limit and purchase, the credit card account is not delinquent, the credit

card is not expired, and others.

5. The merchant will receive a notification on the terminal screen for the status of transaction. If approved,

then the credit cardholder has successfully purchased the item from

the merchant.

6. Credit cardholder will receive a statement from the issuing Bank and have until the due date to pay for the

purchase transaction to the bank
