Overview• Students will watch all segments about

different cultures, and follow each of them with a group discussion.

• Students will draw pictures individually showing how they celebrate in their home.

• Students will choose a culture based on the segments to learn in depth over one week.

Mexican food, art, dance, and beautiful landscape are only some wonderful aspects of Mexico.

(13) Reading/culture. The The student reads or listens to increase knowledge of his/her own culture, the culture of others, and the common elements of cultures. The students is expected to:

(A) connect his/her own experiences with the life experiences, language, customs, and cultures of others (K-3);and

(3) Historical/cultural heritage. The student demonstrates an understanding of art history and culture as records of human achievement. The student is expected to:

(A) identify simple subjects expressed in artworks;

(B) share ideas about personal artworks and the works of others, demonstrating respect for differing opinions; and

(C) relate art to everyday life.
