Cuba Gooding plays the role of a criminal defense lawyer

who gets disbarred for committing a mistrial. He retires for a

break and decides to write a book but gets stuck in between

due to a writer’s block. He befriends an old man who asks

Gooding to read his manuscript. The old man dies soon after

and Gooding publishes the manuscript as a novel under his

name, but gets arrested for real murders of five people as

described exactly in the book.

In it’s Indian remake with Arjun Rampal as the lawyer, Vincent

McMara gives him his manuscript which he publishes and

gets the same fate. The title of McMara’s manuscript was “Fix

the X”, X being the title of this Hindi remake.
