Macarism HumanitiesMacarism Humanities is a Non-Profit Social Welfare Organization. Although it could be established as a Society or under section 25 of the Companies Act yet it is established as a Non-Profit entity which is a Trust, since it has minimum governmental interventions, hence truly to function as an NGO-Non Government Organization. The advantages are: has freedom in Charitable & socio-economic welfare activities, simple/quick/easy in form, minimal restrictions/interference, has legal status within limitations, negligible penalties in event of unintentional defaults, statutory regulations are minimal & nominal, desolution by Government is possible incase of any misdoings.
Macarism means “Happiness from Others’ Joy ”, so all of its activities are channeled to ensure this aim. Macarism Humanities is part of The Macarism Group (www.macarism.net)

In-a-VAN…..To develop gainful employable quality skills, among the socio-economic backward Class of students, living in Mumbai’s slums & impoverished conditions, whose schools do not provide such facilities, by making skill-development resources available within their convenient neighborhood so that access is easy for them in terms of time, cost, energy saving.
Initial Program is to develop Basic Computer skills (as their current writing skills may be redundant in the future of Corporate world) and Basic Communication Skills (as they have multi-lingual orientation which needs proper channeling to get equipped as a life-skill for both personal & professional use) by FREE Training of these employable skills for respectability.
PREMISE v/s VANPREMISE v/s VAN
Why not a Premise?Why not a Premise?
For a room to accommodate 17 persons the cost of owning a premise will be minimum Rs 50 lakhs or renting will be costly @ Rs 30,000 per month. Also, it will be inconvenient for the students in terms of cost, time & energy to & fro the fixed location, this could be discouraging for them to attend.
Why a Van?Why a Van?
The cost of a 17-seater Van is Rs 12 lakhs and can be mobile to move at various locations depending upon the slums indentified. Hence will be easily accessible to the students as the Van will be stationed in the respective neighborhood.
MUMBAI SLUMSMUMBAI SLUMSMumbai, India’s commercial capital with a population of 13 million in 2014 has 72% residents living in the slums i.e. 9.4 million of which children <18 years age comprise of 3.5 million. Care-Van’s focus is on those school going children between 13-18 years age that are among the lowest in the socio-economic strata, by targeting 800 students a year within limited geographical area of Mumbai city/suburbs.
