We celebrate Black History to honor African American World Leaders, Inventors, Scientists, Scholars, Educators,
Entrepreneurs, Military, Religious & Civil Rights Leaders, Researchers, Artists, Astronauts, Athletes, Entertainers, and
numerous others.
Innovations & InventionsAndrew Jackson Beard- patented the railroad car coupler and a rotary engine.
Jack Johnson- heavyweight champion patented a wrench April the 18th, 1922.
Bessie Blount- invented a device to help disabled persons eat.
Sarah Boone- An improvement to the ironing board.
Black History month is celebratedduring February each year.
This celebration was first recognized in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson.
