10 Tips for Effective Presentations 1. Be prepare

• Know the people in the room / size of audience• Location - size of room / how it is organized• Resources available (podium, table, projector, mic)• Define the objective of the presentation• Develop key points (3) • Manage time properly• Use prompt cards (“Fichas”)

2. Body language• 55% of your message is in the body language• Consistence between words and action• Your posture and gestures will reveal what you feel about the

3. Eye contact - Look at your audience in the eye and let them see yours - In a natural fashion, talk to everyone - You will get feedback, control and trust4. Keep them awake - Make a “user friendly presentation” - Involve them with personal examples - Avoid anything monotonous 5. 6. Do not READ - do not read from the presentation - only read when there is a compelling reason7. Visuals - Avoid complicated, difficult or impossible to read images - Present in bumper stickers or t-shirts9. Rehearse for confidence (test run) - Do it! - Rehearse for content and non verbal factors - Look natural and “get away” with your objective
