DonorsChoose.org is a website where people looking to donate

money to a good cause can make a tax deductible donation to the classroom project of their

choice.

Who is eligible to post a project on

DonorsChoose.org?

• You must:• work full time in a public school in the United States• be a teacher, librarian, guidance counselor, nurse, or a full time teacher who also acts as a coach

Who is not eligible?

• principals• administrators• PTA members• teachers' assistants• student teachers• substitutes• part-time after-school teachers• staff developers

What are points for?

You need points in order to post proposals on DonorsChoose.org.

How do I earn points?

• 3 points• confirm a funded project• complete and compelling thank- you package• thank-you package on time

Spending Points

• Materials found in eSchoolMall: • $400 or less cost 1 point.• from $401 and $800 cost 2 points.• more than $801 cost 4 points.• A class trip or class visitor costs 6 points.• A “special request” for materials not offered by eSchoolMall costs 6 points.

Losing Points

• You can lose points if you:• take more than 6 days to confirm you still want your materials• return a thank-you package that is incomplete (for example, missing student thank-you notes) • fail to return a thank-you package by the due date you set

• If your total points drop below 0, or if you do not return a thank-you package for a project, you won't be able to use DonorsChoose.org anymore.
