DMITRY ALEXANDROVICH VENSKIY (1834-1903)
PhD, a public figure.He worked as a country doctor
in the Nizhny Novgorod region. In 1868 he defended a thesis in St. Petersburg Military Academy.
Since 1871 he was a resident of the therapeutic department and then till the end of his life he was the head doctor of Nizhny Novgorod regional country hospital.
Since 1886 he was a permanent chairman of Nizhny Novgorod scientific and practical society of physicians.

SERAFIM PETROVICH GATSISKIY(1803-1876)
A Nizhny Novgorod physitian, an obstetrician, a state counselor.
He worked as a country doctor in Akkerman town, he took part in the struggle against plague and cholera.
In 1833-1846 he worked as a city doctor in Odessa, Vileyka and a doctor of a public hospital in Ryazan.
Since 1847 he was a resident of a Nizhny Novgorod public hospital, since 1854 г. as the head doctor. He had a big private practice.
Many times he acted as a medical inspector. He was a member of the society of Nizhny Novgorod physicians.

GENRIKH-BOLESLAV IOSIFOVICH RODZEVICH (1849-1924)
A Nizhny Novgorod physician, a historian, a public figure.
He worked as a physician in Nizhny Novgorod ship company, the railway station Nizhny, Nizhniy Novgorod post and telegraph office; in the time of political repressions of 1907 г. – as a prison doctor. He had a big private practice. He was a member of Nizhny Novgorod regional achieve committee.
He is the author of 50 scientific books and investigations on the history of Nizhny Novgorod medicine.

NIKOLAY ALEKSEEVICH GRATSIANOV (1855-1913)
PhD, a collegiate councillor, a preventive medicine doctor.
In 1880 he worked as a private practitioner in Arzamas district, he was at the head of the preventive medicine division in Sergach district during the epidemic of typhus.
Since 1882 he worked as a country doctor and a preventive medicine doctor in Nizhny Novgorod.
Since 1900 he was a permanent chairman of the unit of hygiene, education and training of Nizhny Novgorod society of public health.

PETR NIKOLAEVICH MIKHALKIN(1861-1931)
A state councillor, a surgeon, a public figure.
Since 1885 for more than 45 years he worked in Nizhny Novgorod regional hospital: first as a resident, then as the head of the surgical department and a senior doctor. He was in charge of the city sanitary committee.
In 1922 he was elected the head of the department of general surgery in Nizhny Novgorod state university, from 1925 to the end of his life he was at the head of the department of hospital surgery.
He is the author of 19 scientific works.

REGIONAL HOSPITAL
PhD, a teacher, a public figure. He worked as a doctor in Moscow-
Kazan railway in Nizhny Novgorod, then the head of the therapeutic department for men of Nizhny Novgorod regional hospital. Since 1914 he was a permanent chairman of the Society of Nizhny Novgorod physicians.
In 1919 he made a great contribution to the establishment of the medical faculty in Nizhny Novgorod state university, and since March 1920 for 5 years he was the dean of the faculty.
He is the author 23 scientific works.
