Finding a scholarly article in the database

Academic Search Complete

April 25, 2012

From the USM Libraries homepage, Click on the Articles tab, Then Click on the letter “A”

Click on “Academic Search Complete”

Type in search terms, Check the box next to “Full Text”, Check the box next to “Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals, Click “Search”

Note: 108 Results, Articles range from 1937 – 2012, Article is in both html and PDF formats

Note: Results change from 108 to 80 when date is changed to 2002 – 2012.

Limit results to current publications. Click on

the early date and change it. Click

“Update.”

Note: The results page provides bibliographic information about the article.

Note: The Detailed Record provides several pieces of information, as well as Tools on the right side for emailing, printing, citing, and more.

Note: The first page of a scholarly article might look similar to this.

Note: At the end of the scholarly article, there will be a list of References.
