Meet The Future Search Design Team

It all starts with a small diverse group of hard workers…who help orchestrate the event.

The Design Team at WorkThis team meets with Judy 2-3 times before the

Future Search Event.

Site LogisticsThe Design Team handles all site logistics

under Judy’s Direction.

A Diverse Group of 60-80 Stakeholders

The Design Team Identifies and invites a diverse group of community stakeholders to attend the

event.

Students are also key stakeholders!

It is a good thing to have one or two students at each table of 6-8 stakeholders

Food is ALWAYS very important…

The Future Search is usually held over 1.5 – 2 days

Important conversations…The participants job is to talk and to listen about what everyone thinks in important in educating their youth.

Table Teams of 6-8Table Teams stay together for almost the entire event. They manage their own team’s work.

Judy facilitates the large group activities for the duration of the event.

Data….LOTS of data!The table teams generate data that is all

recorded and posted on the walls.

Data about the past…

What is working and what is not…

…and what we can expect in the future.

Table Team VisionsThen the table teams create their

SHARED vision for the future of education in their schools.

Teams share their vision with the larger group in engaging and

creative ways.

The whole event is geared to discover a common vision upon

which people can agree.

Common Themes for the Future

Finally a shared vision begins to emerge. These major themes will later form the foundation of a

strategic plan for education.

Everything is recorded, saved, and eventually made public in a Future Search

Executive Summary

The Planning Group now goes to work…After the Future Search, a planning group. develops

a strategic plan based on the Future Search data.

The Plan Lives ON!

The planning group updates the plan quarterly.
