DESCRIPTION
Following the Annual Pioneer Service at St. James Old Cathedral, Melbourne on 2 November 2008, members of the congregation moved to the adjoining Conference Centre for refreshments. In the foyer of the Conference Centre information tables had been prepared by members of the congregation of St. James Old Cathedral and members of the Port Phillip Pioneers Group. Following refreshments, members of the Port Phillip Pioneers Group presented a 30 minute program entitled “Glimpses of the Past.“ The speaker’s talks were fully illustrated with projected images prepared and shown by Barbara Hawkins. The presentation was well received by the audience who afterwards viewed a variety of wall displays about our pioneering ancestors.
