I found that Google Earth was very glitchy. The program froze several times when trying to creat my project.
Google drive was great for creating surveys and quizzes that can provide instant feedback.
Goggle Sites is another tool that can be used to communicate between parents and student.
I found it a bit difficult to create a site. However, to became more comfortable the more I played around with it.
