- 4. William Henry "Bill" Gates III is an American
businessmagnate, investor, philanthropist, and author.Gates is the
former chief executive officer (CEO) and current chairman of
Microsoft, the software company he founded with Paul Allen.He is
consistently ranked among the worlds wealthiest people and was the
wealthiest overall from 1995 to 2009, excluding 2008,when he was
ranked third; in 2011 he was the wealthiest American and the second
wealthiest person.During his career at Microsoft, Gates held the
positions of CEO and chiefsoftware architect, and remains the
largest individual shareholder, with6.4 percent of the common
stock. He has also authored or co-authoredseveral books.

in January 2000.He remained as chairman and created the position of
chief softwarearchitect. Gates last full-time day at Microsoft was
June 27, 2008. He remains at Microsoft as non-executive
chairman.Gates was born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington,
to William H. Gates, Sr. and Mary Maxwell Gates.Gates has one elder
sister, Kristi and one younger sister, Libby. He was the fourth of
his name in his family,but was known as William Gates III or
"Trey"because his father had the "II" suffix. Early on in his life,
Gates parents had a law career in mind for him. Gatestook an
interest in programming the GE system in BASIC. He wrote his
firstcomputer program on this machine: an implementation of
tic-tac-toe thatallowed users to play games against the
computer.

out of1600 on the SAT and enrolled at Harvard College in the autumn
of 1973.While at Harvard, he met Steve Ballmer, who later succeeded
Gates asCEO of Microsoft. The Poker Room in Currier House at
Harvard University, inwhich Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer formed
Microsoft.Gates did not have a study plan while a student at
Harvardand spent a lot of time using the schools computers.Gates
remained in contact with Paul Allen, Gates and Allensaw this as the
opportunity to start their own computer software company.He had
talked this decision over with his parents, who were supportive
ofhim after seeing how much Gates wanted to start a company. Gates
married Melinda French on January 1, 1994. They have twodaughters,
Jennifer Katharine Gates (1996) and Phoebe Adele (2002), andone
son, Rory John (1999).

- 9. Born in Mysore, Karnataka on 20 August 1946, Murthy
graduated with adegree in electrical engineering from the National
Institute ofEngineering, University of Mysore in 1967. He received
his masters degreefrom IIT Kanpur in 1969. Murthys first job
position was at IIM Ahmadabad, where he worked as the chief systems
programmer. After IIM Ahmedabad, he started a company named
Softronics in 1976.When that company failed, he joined Patni
Computer Systems in Pune.After settling down in Pune, Murthy
founded Infosys in 1981with an initialcapital injection of Rs
10,000, which was invested by his wife Sudha Murthy.At Infosys he
articulated, designed and implemented the Global DeliveryModel
which has become the foundation for the huge success in ITservices
outsourcing from India.

from 2002 to2006, when he became the "non-executive" Chairman of
the Board andChief Mentor. In August 2011, he retired completely
from the company and takingthe title Chairman Emeritus. Murthy
serves as an independent director on the corporate boards of HSBC
and has served as a director on the boards of DBS Bank, Unilever,
ICICI and NDTV.He is also the Chairman of the Governing board of
Public HealthFoundation of India He also serves on the Asia Pacific
Advisory Board ofBritish Telecommunications. In 2005 he co-chaired
the World EconomicForum in Davos.
