HOW TO SET UP WordPress 1) Go to www.wordpress.com and click on Get Started

SELECT A GRID OF MY LATEST POSTS

CHOOSE A ROWLING THEME

SELECT A FREE DOMAIN NAME. Example:abc6766.wordpress.com

SELECT A FREE PLAN

YOU WILL NOW AUTOMATICALLY GET THE USERNAME THAT YOU SELECTED. NOW ENTER YOUR EMAIL AND PASSWORD.

AND CLICK ON CREATE MY ACCOUNT

THIS IS THE HOW YOUR ACCOUNT WILL LOOK

IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER

www.yourusername.wordpress.com is your website address

www.yourusername.wordpress.com/wp-admin

is your admin panel(Dashboard) where you can make and add various

things.

NOW GO TO YOUR ADMIN PANEL URL(DASHBOARD)

NOW LETS CREATE PAGESClick on pages->Add new

And fill up the details

How to create menu for our home page ?Go to Appearances->Menus->Select all your pages->Save Menu

Make sure that under menu setting Bottom Header Menu box is always selected for rowling theme. For any other theme Primary Menu will be

selected.

How to create Category?

What is Category?• Category is one of the pre-

defined taxonomies in WordPress. It is used to sort and group content into different sections.

• A website publishing content on a variety of topics can divide their website into sections using categories.

Example: A news website can have categories for

articles filed under News, Opinion, Weather, Sports,

etc.

If no category is specified for a post then the post is

automatically filed into the default category. In a new

WordPress installation, the default category

is ‘Uncategorized’.

How to create Category?Dashboard->Posts->Categories

Then enter all the details like name and description and click on add new category

How to create a Post and add to a particular Category?Dashboard->Posts->Add new

Enter title and description.And on the right hand side at the bottom select the category which you want to add to that

post and click publish.

Now to view all our Categories on the home page we need to create

a widget on the sidebar. Lets see how to do that.

How to add Category Widget to Sidebar?Dashboard->Appearnces->Widgets->Categories

Now just drag this Categories to Sidebar and click save
