Early days…………Born in a small village near Karur in a farmer’s family.

Completed basic education in Government schools.

Got Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from NachimuthuPolytechnic, Pollachi.

Emerged as a Businessman- Successful Businessman

• 1965 - Started a small electrical shop in Karur by name Star Electricals.

• 1975 – Entered home textile business by name “Atlas Fabrics”.

• 1978 – Established “Atlas Export Enterprises” which is exporting home textile products to various countries.

In 1999

The Tamil Nadu Governor, Her Excellency M. Fatima Beevi, visited his factory to witness how home textile products are produced.

The District Collector of Karur Shri. S. Ayyar and Atlas M. Nachimuthuwere welcoming the Governor at Atlas.

• President, Karur Exporters’ Association

• Chairman, Karur Textile Park

• Chairman, Kongu Educational Trust

• District President, The Bharat Scouts & Guides, Karur District.

June 2013

Atlas M. Nachimuthu visited Gujarat as a member of the team representing CII to study the industrial growth in Gujarat & also met the then Chief Minister Shri. Narendra Modi for a short discussion.

April 2004

He was a member of an 8 member team which represented the Textile Committee of Karurand visited China to study the export market potential for Karur industry.

He donated a considerable amount and built ‘Atlas Auditorium’ in the campus of KonguCollege of Arts & Science which can accommodate about 2,000 people.

Raising voice for a common cause

In the year 2012….

Led the Karur Exporters Association with its large number of employees in the ‘Hunger Fast’ undertaken at Karur supporting the campaign against cotton policy.

Beyond business: Reaching out to various sections of the society

Guiding the Hometextile Exporters in Karur

He served as the Treasurer of Karur

Exporters’ Association from

1994 to 2009 (for 16 years

consecutively)

Since 2009 he has been heading the Karur

Exporters’ Association as its President.

He was the Executive Committee Member of

Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC), Chennai,

for 12 years and

Also served as its Vice-Chairman for 2 years.

On the board of Educational Institutions

Shri. Atlas. M. Nachimuthuserved as the Treasurer of Kongu Educational Trust from 2000 to 2006 (6 years).

Since 2007, he has been leading this Trust as its Chairman which is running an Arts & Science College and two Higher Secondary Schools in Karur.

Karur Textile Park

He is the Founder Chairman of Karur Textile Park which was inaugurated in 2011.

This Rs.145 crore project was developed with the assistance of Central & State Governments for the uplift of Karur textile industry in a 110 acre area.

Karur Textile Park is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities

Inaugurated by Central Minister

for Textiles in 2011.
