Philosophy
I believe the educational leader is a leader of
leaders. A transformational leader who builds a
culture based on respect by demonstrating
qualities such as: communicating fairly and
effectively, being dependable, recognizing and
utilizing the various talents of individuals within
the group, promoting and expecting the best from
all while remaining open and willing to change for
the benefit of the students.

“Having the ability to manage a class with little
distraction, having high standards for students
and being flexible towards their needs are
important traits Ms. Wayland holds. The students
knew she cared, so they gave the effort. These
traits are parallel to a leadership role in which I
know she can succeed.”
Jessica Lopez (BTAP)

“Ms. Wayland has taught me how to use student data to look
for weaknesses, as well as strengths. Not only can she
identify problems, but she helps create solutions. She is an
asset to any school setting; as a person who has great
academic knowledge of her field and one who will dedicate
themselves to the task at hand. It is obvious to anyone who
works with her that she stays abreast of current issues in
mathematics, and has a deep well of both applied and
theoretical strategies to improve student and teacher
performance.”
Eric Sams (5th Grade Math Teacher)
References“Ms. Wayland works very well with the administrators, teachers,
parents and students. She has a great commitment to our school
and students to ensure the success of all students. She is very
organized, plans ahead, consults with the principal but at the same
time takes initiative.”
Aileen Martina, Principal of Seminary Hills Park Elementary
“Ms. Wayland has served as Team Leader for her Interdisciplinary
Team, Lead Content Teacher for math, Teacher Representative to
the ESL Department to help students transition to their new
schools. Her strength is working well with other staff members.
She has led Professional Development at both the district and
campus level.”
Carlos Ayala, Principal of International Newcomer Academy
Educational Mission
My mission as a school principal will be
to provide progressive leadership which
empowers the faculty and staff to provide
meaningful, quality instruction that will
prepare all students for life beyond high
school – both academically and socially.
