Louise moved with her parents to America when she was 4.

When she was a young woman she married and moved to New York City to study art.

Louise met famous artists like Pablo Picasso and Diego Rivera.

At 30 she began making sculptures called assemblages.

She used scraps of wood that she nailed together and painted.

She created large wooden walls made of dozens of smaller boxes filled with hundreds of pieces of carefully arranged JUNK!

The things Louise used were considered JUNK.

She collected sawed up bits of furniture and wood from destroyed houses.
