• Immediately after the Permian Mass Extinction

• Lots of new area is open for animals to live

• Reptiles are really successful here

• Continents were still together forming Pangaea but they were starting to drift apart.

• The minor extinction at the end of the Triassic Period made dinosaurs abundant during this time.

• The climate here was very hot and dry
