We want to thank the Ozark County Historical Society in Gainesville for their great encouragement and help during the effort to locate rural schools in

Ozark County, Missouri. The staff was knowledgeable and generous with information.

Their help was invaluable.

This survey was made of the rural schools in Ozark County, Missouri, conducted in 2011. Where some structures were still on the sites

and owners gave permission, we have photos of the schools. When the schools were consolidated, they were sold. Some are homes,

churches or community buildings if they are habitable. Many are on private property. When you are searching for school locations,

please remember to respect private property and ownership. Ask for permission before entering private property.
